DT5771 — Full Upgrade

The DT5771 is a compact Smart Digital Multi-Channel Analyzer designed for Gamma and X-ray spectrometry. It integrates a single-input 64k-channel Digital MCA with 14-bit, 200 MS/s acquisition, FPGA-based DPP-PHA processing, and low-voltage preamplifier power supply capabilities.

The device is intended for high-resolution spectroscopy applications with semiconductor detectors such as HPGe and CZT, while also supporting scintillation detectors such as NaI and LaBr3. Through its Web Interface, users can configure acquisition parameters, monitor real-time spectra and statistics, manage waveform acquisition, perform peak fitting and energy calibration, and store data directly on the on-board memory.

What's in this package

A Full Install Upgrade is distributed as a file with the .nsys extension. It contains a complete Operating System image for the DT5771 Smart Digital MCA, replacing the system software installed on the device.

A Full Install Upgrade changes the Major Version of the device. It is required when the target version has a different Major Version than the one currently installed. For example, if the current device version is 1.4 and the target version is 2.3, a Full Install Upgrade must be performed.

Unlike Incremental Upgrades, Full Install Upgrades also support downgrades, since the complete OS image is replaced.

A Full Install Upgrade updates the Operating System and causes the device to reboot into Recovery Mode during installation. The process takes longer than an Incremental Upgrade due to the larger file size. User settings, including login credentials, Ethernet configuration, SmartMCA acquisition settings, and data stored in the user partition, are preserved after the upgrade.

Installation

Prerequisites

  • The DT5771 must be powered on and accessible via its Web Interface through Ethernet or USB, or accessible via Recovery Mode at the static IP address 192.168.50.2.
  • The current device version can be checked from the Web Interface or from the on-board display under VERSION INFO.

Method 1 — Via Web Interface (Online Update)

  1. Open the DT5771 Web Interface in a browser and log in.
  2. Open the Device Upgrade page from the Dashboard or from the navigation menu.
  3. If a Full Install Upgrade is available, the upgrade details are displayed, including version, type, release date, size, description, and changelog.
  4. Click Download and Install, then confirm the operation in the dialog.
  5. The device downloads the .nsys file, verifies it, uploads it to the device, and reboots automatically into Recovery Mode.
  6. During installation, the display shows the OS UPGRADING screen. The upgrade progress can be monitored by connecting to the Recovery Page at 192.168.50.2.
  7. After the installation completes, the DT5771 reboots automatically. Reconnect to the Web Interface and verify the updated OS version.

Method 2 — Via Web Interface (Manual Upload)

  1. Download the .nsys file from this page.
  2. Open the DT5771 Web Interface in a browser and log in.
  3. Open the Device Upgrade page.
  4. In the Manual Upload File section, click Browse and select the downloaded .nsys file.
  5. Click Upgrade.
  6. The system verifies the upgrade file compatibility. If the file is incompatible, the upload is blocked and an error message is displayed.
  7. If the file is valid, confirm the operation in the dialog.
  8. The device uploads the file, verifies it, and reboots automatically into Recovery Mode to complete the OS installation.
  9. The progress can be monitored from the Recovery Page at 192.168.50.2. After completion, the device reboots automatically.

Method 3 — Via Recovery Mode (advanced)

Use this method if the device cannot boot normally or if you need to perform the OS upgrade directly from the Recovery Page.

  1. Download the .nsys file from this page.
  2. Boot the device in Recovery Mode: power on the DT5771 using the Power/Navigation switch, then move the lever left or right until the display shows the LOADING RECOVERY screen.
  3. Once the RECOVERY screen appears, open a browser and connect to 192.168.50.2.
  4. From the Recovery Page, select the OS Upgrade function.
  5. Upload the .nsys file and start the installation.
  6. The device flashes the new OS image and, when the process is complete, requires or performs a reboot depending on the selected upgrade flow.

Do not power off the device or interrupt the network connection during the upgrade process, as this may cause OS corruption. The Recovery Page can also be used for advanced maintenance operations such as restoring the factory OS image or reverting to the last installed OS upgrade.
